On Your Side team recovers over $17K for Phoenix area viewers during April
PHOENIX (AZFamily) —Thanks to On Your Side, Anthony Perez won’t have to shell out $3,120 over the next four years.
Anthony owns and operates an auto detail shop, and his customers pay for his services using credit cards. “So we submit invoices to our customers; they pay online. And that’s how we do most of our billing,” Anthony said.
He switched to a different company called Synergy Payment Solutions to save on credit card processing fees. However, he wasn’t satisfied with the service and tried to cancel. That’s when Anthony discovered he was contractually obligated to Synergy Payment Solutions to the tune of $3,100 over the next four years.
So, On Your Side got involved. Once we did, Synergy Payment Solutions said Anthony was dropped from his contract, meaning he won’t have to come up with that $3,100 after all.
“I mean, I think it’s great,” he said. “I think what you guys are doing is fantastic. To have somebody that can speak on behalf of those that are involved in these types of situations is a huge benefit.”
On Your Side also helped a viewer named Jena Gable. “I feel like I wish I would have called Gary Harper sooner,” she said.
Jena’s problem started when she pulled into Circle K and parked her Dodge Challenger. But when she tried to leave, rebar sticking up from the parking stump snagged Jena’s front bumper and pulled out everything.
On Your Side’s Gary Harper asked her, “So you put it in reverse. And what happened?” Jena replied, “I just start hearing peeling away. And we were like, ‘What the heck was that?’”
The damage to Jena’s vehicle cost about $4,744 to repair. But after six weeks of waiting, Jena says Circle K seemed to be ignoring her pleas to repair her car.
After On Your Side got involved, an insurance company representing Circle K contacted Jena and said it would pay for the $4,744 in repairs and a rental car.
Jena says it only happened because of On Your Side. “At this point, they’re super apologetic for taking over six weeks to communicate with me. I appreciate that Circle K has taken the reins on this finally and doing the right thing,” she said.
When you add up all the money On Your Side was able to recover or save our viewers during April, it amounts to $17,175. For the entire year so far, it comes to $123,334.
