(CNN) – At least one team in the NFL has no brotherly love for the “brotherly shove.”

The Green Bay Packers are calling for the National Football League’s competition committee to place a ban on the “tush push,” according to league sources.

Over the past few years, the Philadelphia Eagles, and other teams, have used the play to get short yardage for a first down or a touchdown.

When the play is called, the quarterback is snapped the ball and pushed from behind by his teammates.

Officials with the NFL have looked at the matter before but determined there was no significant increase in potential injuries.

Philadelphia has had a lot of success with the “tush push” – including during this month’s Super Bowl victory.

The competition committee is expected to discuss the matter at next month’s annual league meeting.
