Girl’s high school flag football game of the week to air on Arizona’s Family Sports
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It’s a big day for high school sports! On Tuesday night, Arizona’s Family Sports will air the first-ever girl’s high school flag football game of the week.
Hamilton High School and Xavier College Prep are facing off live thanks to a partnership with the Arizona Cardinals and State Farm.
Over 100 high schools are participating in the AIA girls’ flag football this season, and Cardinals broadcasters Dave Pasch and Ron Wolfley will call tonight’s game.
In August, the Arizona Cardinals Football Club and Arizona’s Family announced a partnership to broadcast the “Cardinals High School Girls Flag Football Game of the Week, presented by State Farm.” This is the first time an NFL team has aired a high school girls’ flag football game of the week.
Arizona’s Family Sports will air eight games during the season, beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Each game will feature a 90-minute broadcast, play-by-play analysis, and sideline reporting.
The games will be on Tuesday or Thursday nights and re-air on Saturday throughout the season. Click here to view a full broadcast schedule.
Earlier this month, the Cardinals announced the first-ever flag football campus at an NFL stadium to help ongoing efforts grow the game of flag football and allow fans to play where the team competes.
Arizona is just one of 11 states offering high school girls’ flag football. In 2023, 57 Arizona high schools offered the sport, and over 100 schools offered it for the 2024 season.
Flag football has grown worldwide, particularly among women and girls. Around 20 million people in over 100 countries play flag football. The sport will be included in the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
