Adorable Cownose stingrays predict Arizona Cardinals season record
TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — It’s time for football season, and everyone is gearing up for Arizona Cardinals football, including aquatic animals!
Some optimistic Cownose stingrays at the SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium in Tempe made a bold prediction for the Cardinals’ record this year. The stingrays predict the Redbirds finishing with a stellar 11-6 record — a massive upgrade from last season’s 4-13 record.
The stingrays correctly predicted the four wins last year, so they want to continue their winning streak!
The animals chose the matchups with the help of SEA LIFE aquarists, who have trained the rays to make their picks through a method called “target training,” which signals that it is their time to eat.

However, the football fun doesn’t stop there! This month, the aquarium welcomed two male Southern stingrays, and what better way to name them than after Cardinals players? Stop by the aquarium to meet Kyler Mur-Ray and Marvin Har-Ray-son Jr.
Guests can say hi to the duo and the four friendly Cownose stingrays in the aquarium’s Bay of Rays exhibit, along with other species of rays that call SEA LIFE home.
