PORTLAND, OR (AZFamily) — Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker made history on Monday night, becoming the franchise’s all-time leading scorer, adding to his legacy as one of the greatest Suns of all time.

The history-making shot was a three-pointer 23 feet away with 7:34 left in the third quarter against the Trailblazers in Portland, giving him 24 points on the night.

Booker passed 15,666 points, a record previously held by the late great Walter Davis.

Davis had held the title as Suns all-time scoring leader since April 5, 1986

It was only a matter of time before Booker would pass the milestone, after getting to 15,000 points in December and being 23 points away heading into Monday’s contest.

Booker is one of the most recognizable faces in Phoenix sports since the Suns drafted him as the 13th overall pick in 2015.

He scored his first points on Oct. 28, 2015, in the third quarter against the Dallas Mavericks.

Booker scored 30 points for the first time on Jan. 19, 2016, and posted a career-high 70 points against the Boston Celtics on March 24, 2017, becoming the youngest player to score 70 points at 20 years, 145 days old.

Only 10 players have ever scored 70 or more points.

In 2019, he became the youngest player with consecutive 50-point games in NBA history.

Booker joins Golden State’s Stephen Curry and Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo as the only active players to lead their franchises in scoring all-time.

He helped the Suns get to the NBA Finals in 2021 in his first playoff appearance.

Booker is a four-time All-Star, All-NBA First Team in 2023, All-NBA Third Team in 2024 and won the Three-Point Contest during All-Star Weekend in 2018.

He’s also a two-time Olympic gold medalist.

Booker holds the arena scoring record at four different current NBA arenas (Boston, Indiana, Phoenix, Utah).
