GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — It’s Something Good when one Valley high school honors one of their own! Perry High School boy’s basketball coach Sam Duane was named High School Coach of the Year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. On Friday morning, students and staff gathered to honor Duane at a pep rally!
Gibby Parra was at the ceremony, where the whole school was buzzing with excitement. Coach Duane has led the team to three consecutive 6A Championship titles. “Individual awards are just an accumulation of good players, great administration, great student body, great community. To be at Perry is just a blessing,” he said.
