Scottsdale bakery and restaurant offering plant-based dishes under one roof
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — At BEG Bakery and Creamery and PARM Italia, the owners love great food and acronyms! BEG stands for butter-free, egg-free, gluten-free, and PARM Italia represents the phrase “plants are restorative medicine.”
Rich and Michelle Bonura say they have a heart for serving people. From the time they met, they have worked as entrepreneurs to bring a unique dining experience to all of their customers.
The plant-based focus developed after Rich was diagnosed with an auto-immune-related disease. He was bedridden for eight months and started researching a plant-based lifestyle to help his health.
Michelle’s sister, a baker, knew Rich has a sweet tooth and started bringing some plant-based treats that were quick crowd-pleasers. The Bonuras worked to create a bakery and Italian food concept that offers all traditional tastes and textures with plant-based and gluten-free ingredients.
They are passionate about serving an underserved community of those with autoimmune-related illnesses, lactose intolerance, celiac, or gluten issues.
Under one roof, you’ll find the finest in gluten-free and plant-based muffins, cupcakes, brownies, cinnamon rolls, and ice cream, plus Italian classics such as meatless meatballs, spaghetti, chicken parm, eggplant parm, pizza, and appetizers. YUM to all!
