Shamrock Farms sharing unique farm tour experience with community
STANFIELD, AZ (AZFamily) — Arizona’s Shamrock Farms is locally family-owned and has been in operation for over 100 years.
Four generations of the McClelland family have run the business, and they’re proud to share their farm tour experience with the community!
Shamrock Farms opens its barn doors for a unique agricultural-based tour where schoolchildren and families can see firsthand how farm-fresh milk makes its way from their family farm to your table.
Last year alone, 10,000 visitors got into a cow-spotted tram to meet the hometown dairy’s herd and learn about the special care Shamrock Farms cows receive to ensure high-quality milk is produced.
Tour highlights include driving through a desert oasis where guests see cows eating and relaxing under misted shades, a glimpse into the cow cafeteria where all the nutritious feed they consume is kept, and the milking parlor where guests can see and learn about the milking process from a mezzanine viewing area.
New this year, guests will visit Roxie’s Calf Barn to meet some of the newest members of Shamrock’s herd. Once the guided tour is complete, visitors enjoy free milk while exploring a big red Welcome Barn that features a historical timeline, interactive activities, a gift shop, and everyone’s favorite — Roxie’s Ice Cream parlor, where you can choose between popular flavors of ice cream and more.
