What Arizonans should know with 2 weeks until Real ID deadline
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two weeks from Tuesday, you will be required to show the new travel ID in Arizona in order to be able to board a plane.
This requirement is in compliance with the new federal Real ID Act going into effect on May 7.
The Arizona Department of Transportation is now asking anyone who does not yet have a Real ID not to rush to make an appointment. Instead, ADOT is asking you to wait until closer to when you plan to travel.
This request is due to the large amount of Real ID appointments being seen at Arizona MVD locations.
ADOT also encourages Arizonans to check the dozens of authorized third-party locations to get their new travel ID.
