WADDELL, AZ (AZFamily) — Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22, is a time when people across the country will celebrate the land around them, including the beautiful land of Arizona.

Tuesday is also White Tank Wild Day, and one nonprofit is asking for help to protect wildlife in the White Tank Mountains. That’s Something Good.

The White Tank Mountains Conservancy is all about keeping the mountain area alive and well, as well as promoting sustainable development in the area. With the Valley and Maricopa County seeing booming development, the organization says it’s important more than ever to speak up for the land and nature.

“Us really promoting and advocating for solutions and sustainable development around the Valley is critical because you need to conserve the wildlife corridors to preserve the biodiversity of the plants and animals out here, and that’s critical,” said Sharma Torrens, executive director of the conservancy.

Thank you to everyone involved for helping keep the Arizona desert beautiful.
