PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A Phoenix nonprofit is hosting a golf tournament to help veteran families, and that’s Something Good.

The 2025 Heroes Golf Classic will raise money for Helping Hands for Freedom, which provides financial assistance for veterans and Gold Star families.

The tournament is on Monday, May 5, at the Moon Valley Country Club near Thunderbird Road and 7th Street. Registration is open and includes 18 holes of golf, complimentary drinks, lunch, team awards and contest prizes. There will also be a raffle.

No skill level is necessary. “Have fun. It’s a very casual day, no real stress,” said Eric Snelz, CEO of Helping Hands For Freedom.

“In many cases, they’re struggling financially, because times of tough,” said Snelz. He says the money raised will help families keep the lights and the air conditioning on in the summer.
