Meet the Litchfield Elementary teachers running in this year’s Pat’s Run
LITCHFIELD PARK, AZ (AZFamily) — Runners and walkers are getting excited about the upcoming 21st Pat’s Run. It’s a time for people of all abilities and backgrounds to support the great Pat Tillman and what he did for our country.
One group includes teachers from Litchfield Elementary School. They’ve been running the event for years, and their group, “Cat Club,” continues to grow with more teachers, their principal this year, and their daughters.
Kim Shibley, who retired after teaching for 20 years, says they were hooked the first time they saw people with physical limitations running and showing their excitement.
Sue Cercone, who teaches fourth grade, says she used to coach a girls running club, so it was a natural fit to start running Pat’s Run. She also says her husband is a 24-year Army vet, making it even more special.
The ladies and their daughters will be out there bright and early and say they can’t wait to be part of this great event another year.
