PHOENIX (AZFamily) —It was a magical morning for many Arizona families and their children!
April is Make-A-Wish Foundation’s wish month. On Wednesday, 23 Arizona families boarded a Wish Flight to the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, and that’s Something Good!
The A gates at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport were transformed into a send-off celebration with balloons, sweet treats, a red carpet, and flight attendants wearing Mickey and Minnie ears.
“This is a one-of-a-kind wish experience,” said Matthew Wall, Director of Project Wishes, Make-A-Wish Foundation. “No matter what they’ve experienced in their life, they’re here for Make-A-Wish and for Disney and for American Airlines to bring them hope, strength and joy when they need it most.”

One parent says seeing her child go through cancer has been a challenging journey with all the chemo and radiation treatments. “She’s really been our strength through it all,” she said.
“I’m glad to have the experience in general. It’s not something we can do on our own,” another parent added.
American Airlines will charter the flight so families can spend seven days at the “place where dreams come true.”
The in-flight experience will feature a menu with an ice cream sundae bar and activities for the kids. The families will land in Florida, and WishMakers will cheer for them upon arrival.
