Peoria students heading to Robotics World Championship
Something Good is sponsored by Global Credit Union
PEORIA, AZ (AZFamily) —Some West Valley robotics students are heading to their first Robotics World Championship, and that’s Something Good!
The Cobra Commanders consist of 28 students from various Peoria Unified School District schools.
The team has been learning robotics under the mentorship of engineering industry professionals and Peoria Unified teachers.

The students were tasked with building 120-pound competitive robots. During the past two months, they and their mentors have invested thousands of hours designing, building and programming the robots using industry-standard software and manufacturing tools.
The Cobra Commanders have been successful this season, earning multiple awards for their creation. They qualified for the World Championship and will be heading to Houston next month to compete with hundreds of teams from around the globe.
Congratulations to the Cobra Commanders, and good luck at the World Championship!
