Alexandra Rangel is a news reporter for AZ Family’s bureau office in Yuma, Arizona. She was born and raised just west of Yuma in Imperial County, CA.
Alexandra joins us from WFTX in Fort Myers, Florida, where she was a morning reporter. At WFTX, she covered everything from breaking news to hurricanes. She covered Hurricane Ian and its aftermath, one of the biggest hurricanes to hit Southwest Florida.
Before moving to Florida, she worked as a freelance reporter for KPBS in San Diego. She got her start at KYMA in Yuma, where she reported for their bureau office in El Centro, CA.
She graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s in Journalism and Media Studies.
Alexandra is excited to be in Yuma as it mirrors her hometown of Calexico, CA.
She enjoys border reporting and telling stories about the community.
